Last year we started work on a new collaborative gin with world famous chef Gordon Ramsay. Working alongside Eden Mill, Croxons and Global Merchandising the first product of the series, Ramsay's Gin, has just launched.
“Winding through the Fife countryside, the Eden River flows past the fields of honeyberries which form the base of this gin.”
We began this project the way we always do - with lots of research. We focussed on the similarities between Gordon and Eden Mill, the characteristics chef and distillery share, and researched the provenance of the botanicals chosen for this particular gin: Recipe No.1.
Gordon Ramsay spent some of his childhood in Scotland, fishing in local lochs and rivers and learning to love the dramatic coastlines of this country, as well as the unique terroir it provides for produce grown in its soil. Eden Mill shares Gordon's love of local produce. Winding through the Fife countryside, the Eden River flows past the fields of honeyberries which form the base of this gin. Honeyberries are joined by Mara seaweed from Crail, which bring a salty, savoury note, and pink peppercorns add heat and complexity.
The Eden River meets the sea where the distillery overlooks the Eden Estuary. We took advantage of this journey through flavours and landscapes in our label design for this gin, depicting the key locations from which the botanicals were found in a subtle embossed map. The Ramsay brand takes centre stage with premium holofoil details.
