Festival 2018 was the cultural programme that ran alongside the 2018 European Championships. Towns and cities across Scotland hosted a programme of live music, circus, dance, theatre and visual art.

We worked with artist duo Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan to create an identity system built around their logo and artworks.
Represented by The Modern Institute, Joanne and Tom have worked collaboratively since 1995, creating enigmatic images, sculptural objects and installations. They produce interrogative work that questions the roles and behaviours of contemporary art by re-staging and positioning a vocabulary of motifs, phrases and forms drawn from the images, objects and histories of art and visual culture. Motifs such as pyramids, standing stones and cartoon-like animals occur as sculpture, painting and architecture alongside performance, photographs and text.
Together these are used to create carefully crafted displacements and diversions that are designed to cajole their audience into a state of discomforting contemplation.
