We started September off with a trip to Sugo for Lisa’s birthday! The rest of the month had a lot to live up to after that…here’s a summary of how it went.
"It’s always brilliant to see such big projects come to life, this time in the midst of the works of nominees Jesse Darling, Ghislaine Leung, Barbara Walker and Rory Pilgrim.”
We’ve been working on branding Towner in Eastbourne for Turner for the last year, and this month some of the team jetted down to Eastbourne for the opening of the Turner Prize! This is our second time branding the host venue of the Turner Prize, and it’s always brilliant to see such big projects come to life, this time in the midst of the works of nominees Jesse Darling, Ghislaine Leung, Barbara Walker and Rory Pilgrim. Dave, Dahl, Lewis, David and Kat represented Tangent in amongst the modern art set, and thoroughly enjoyed the works on show, the conversation, and the free bar. We will publish a full case study for Turner 2023 in due course, where you can read more about our inspiration, influences and final outcome.
“Collaborating with local artist Jill Calder, the 2023 whisky is a celebration of time and place.”
Our followers on social media may be aware that earlier this year we began rebranding Perth Museum - aka the Home of Destiny. Perth approached us recently to brand the exhibit they’ll debut along with their new look next spring, so that’s been a really interesting project so far for the studio. Lots of magical research! We’re pitching for a handful of other jobs this month as well, so will surely have some new work to announce soon.
Longtime clients Eden Mill released their 2023 Art of St Andrews single malt this month. Collaborating with local artist Jill Calder, the 2023 whisky is a celebration of time and place, with Jill’s art wrapping round the bespoke Eden Mill bottle and box. This is the third Art of St Andrews project we’ve worked on Eden Mill with; for more on this release and previous years, read on here.
Last but not least, and the saddest news of all, our beloved Kat left us this month for a position at a studio in London, where she will definitely smash it. Kat, you’ll be missed!
