Edinburgh Art Festival is the UK’s largest event of its kind, bringing together the capital’s leading galleries, museums and artist-run spaces in a city-wide celebration of the very best in visual art.
“Our clean, elegant approach provides respite from the visual chaos.”
Having worked with the festival since 2014, we were commissioned to clarify their brand positioning and subsequently update the festival’s identity. Working closely with the Director and Marketing Manager, our aim was to focus less on annual themes and more on the festival’s core offering. Their old logo had served them well, but it was time to move on.
Uniting existing and new spaces within the city, we positioned the festival as ‘greater than the sum of it’s parts’. We evolved their logo, retaining the distinctive composition but simplified to work more effectively across a range of media.
In August Edinburgh’s population doubles, and the world’s leading festival city is saturated with adverts and posters all fighting for audience attention. Our clean, elegant approach provides respite from the visual chaos.
We’ve just rolled out the new identity across their 2018 festival suite of materials.
