Eden Mill is hosting both gin and whisky experiences in this location at the minute, but we chose to indulge in the Share the Love Gin event, which includes three cocktails and some delicious paired snacks. Upon arrival we were greeted with a Love Gin and grapefruit soda and a little introduction to Eden Mill itself by our delightful MC Andre. As long-time brand partners with the distillery it was interesting to hear about it from such a different perspective (but very nice to hear the compliments on the branding from other participants in the event). Andre talked us through the creation of Love Gin as a Valentines limited edition - one of the first pink gins on the UK market - and passed around samples of the botanicals for us all to have a good old sniff of.

We were each served a small tipple of Love Gin, unhindered by any additions (except water, if you so desired), along with marshmallows created by Edinburgh’s own Marshmallow Lady, who created three varieties based on Love Gin’s hero botanicals, strawberry, raspberry and rose petals. Andre then guided us through creating our own Bramble cocktail, which included expert tips on preventing cocktail shaker leaks, the exact length of time to shake, and whether it’s better to tip the blackberry liqueur in fast or slow (definitely slow!).

We were led into one of the Heads & Tails private rooms with our Bramble cocktails. Tucked into an old arched bank vault, we got to sit back and get to know the other attendees of the event as we enjoyed our very refreshing drinks. As soon as those were drained, we were each brought a Clover Club, a very elegant, prohibition era cocktail that they - delightfully - served with raspberry macarons provided by Mademoiselle Macaron. We were sent on our way smiling, lightly stumbling, and with a 10% discount code to use. Highly recommend.
