There are few among us these days who would dispute that the world of politics is in an absolute state. With all the division, mudslinging, lack of accountability and the relentless appropriation of words like ’sleaze’ or ‘fake news’ when lies and corruption are much more accurate - it’s no wonder that democracy in the UK (and elsewhere) is no longer fit for purpose.
“The context of politics has changed so much that no single party can meet the challenges and opportunities of the twenty-first century.”
"The context of politics has changed so much that no single party can meet the challenges and opportunities of the twenty-first century. A much more equal, democratic and sustainable society is not going to happen through the actions of any one party." - Neal Lawson, Compass
Progressive Alliance is a cross party initiative for democratic change which aims to build new politics for a new society. We’ve been commissioned to build a brand for Progressive Alliance from the ground up; to capture the grassroots spirit of this type of political change and help them to help voters in England and Wales make informed decisions about exactly who and what they’re voting for at the next election. We’re in the middle of the discovery phase just now, speaking to activists, business leaders and members of parliament from different parties to determine the direction that a changed political world could go in. Progressive Alliance’s plans on how to approach this are well developed and constantly evolving as our current political sphere evolves too - as of now, Tangent has the easy job: brand identity, logo, tone of voice.
We’ve said it a lot over the past few years, but we try hard as a company to only take on jobs whose aims and ideology match our own. Compass and Progressive Alliance truly want to create a Good Society, one where the current power imbalance is restored; people’s voices are heard, and cross party unity is the norm.
We can’t wait to get stuck into this project. We’ll update on our progress soon.
