Tangent

New Vacancy - Project Manager

Tangent is one of Scotland’s leading design agencies, specialising in branding. As a creatively-focussed studio, we pride ourselves on working with exciting and varied clients across a range of sectors, with a particular track record in delivering global events and high-profile cultural and civic work.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced project manager to join our team, working remotely in the short-term before being ultimately based in our Glasgow city centre studio.

The Role

You will efficiently manage a range of exciting creative projects from inception to delivery. You’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered in line with a defined plan and will often report progress to the founders. As we are a small team, you may occasionally need to roll up your sleeves and help out other team members with tasks outside of your area of expertise such as proof-reading, site testing, content population etc. The role will be wide and varied and you will be expected to:

  • Successfully manage projects and deliver them smoothly - on brief and on budget.
  • Build and nurture key relationships with clients to fully understand the objectives of each project.
  • Interpret project briefs and manage expectations, deliverables and challenges.
  • Effectively brief tasks in to internal teams.
  • Continuously follow-up on agreed activities, project budgets and reporting.
  • Refine our workflow to help us deliver the best work in the most efficient way possible.
  • Cultivate an efficient culture that allows dedicated time for creative thinking and personal development.
The Candidate

We’re looking for a supremely organised individual who can solve complex problems, break projects down into a clear set of priorities and stay calm while keeping lots of plates spinning at once. As with any organisational role, a love of lists and Gannt charts is essential. Just as important, however, is a positive, personable and upbeat nature - we’re looking for someone who enjoys working closely with other people, whether they be colleagues, collaborators or clients. You will have:

  • Problem solving skills, with an ability to take the initiative and find workable solutions to daily agency challenges.
  • An eye for detail, with the rigour to review proposals and presentations.
  • An understanding of digital / web development workflows and processes.
  • Self-motivation and a pro-active attitude to delivering projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • At least three years experience working in a design / brand / digital agency environment (essential).
  • Previous experience managing both digital and design projects (essential).
Why Tangent?

Tangent is a studio of designers, strategists and developers who specialise in branding. Our clients come from a wide range of fields across culture and civic society, and the work we do is often unconventional - we apply our creative process to events, initiatives, partnerships and even cities and places.

Our growing portfolio includes a range of clients across multiple sectors, including cultural events such as the Commonwealth Games, Turner Prize and Edinburgh International Book Festival. We’ve worked extensively with universities, political movements, think tanks and city brands, and we’re excited to be currently working on an upcoming global cultural event: the World Expo, launching this October in Dubai.

You’ll be a valued member of a close-knit team, working on exciting projects in a relaxed and informal working environment. Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary;
  • 29 days off, inclusive of public holidays;
  • Extra holidays for every year working with us;
  • Company pension;
  • Great studio in a prime city centre location;
  • Scope to broaden skillsets in a wide and varied role;
  • The chance to play a crucial role in our next phase of growth;
  • Opportunity to attend industry events;
  • A flexible pet and child friendly studio.
